Purpose
AI tools are arriving in Canadian policing faster than plain-language, sourced information about them. This site collects what regulators, services, researchers and journalists have said publicly, and explains it clearly for officers, civilian staff, supervisors, chiefs and boards.
Independence
- We do not take payment from vendors to cover, rank or recommend products.
- We do not run vendor-sponsored content. Where a source is sponsored or published by a vendor, we label it or do not cite it as evidence.
- We are not affiliated with any police service, association, regulator or union.
- Consulting: the owner plans to offer AI consulting and design services to Canadian law enforcement (see Work with us). Consulting relationships will be disclosed on any page that discusses a client, and will not influence what we report or how we rate evidence.
- Funding and affiliations: [owner to complete: how the site is funded and any relationships to disclose]
How we source
- Prefer primary sources: regulator findings, board policies, official documents.
- Then reputable news reporting, linked to the original.
- Every factual claim has an inline link. See the full source list, which also notes sources we could not verify.
- We do not invent statistics or quotes. Direct quotes are verbatim from the linked source. If we translate, we say so.
- Each page shows the date it was last checked.
How we label content
- Claimed: what an agency or vendor says. We do not treat it as proven.
- Evidence seen: independent findings or documents. If we found none, we say so.
- Checklists and explainers: our synthesis of the cited sources, not official guidance.
Corrections
If you see an error, an outdated item, or a better source, tell us at [contact email placeholder]. Our policy:
- We review reports promptly and verify against the source.
- We fix errors on the page and add a dated correction note describing what changed.
- We do not quietly remove an error that readers may have relied on.
- Agencies and vendors named here may ask for a correction or add a response; we will review it using the same standard.
